This evidenced-based family preservation program provides services through The Department of Children and Family Services, Wraparound Agencies, and/or The Office of Juvenile Justice when a child is at risk of going into foster care, is being reunified after being in foster care, or at risk of placement into a residential/psychiatric/detention facility. Because we know that children who have multiple foster care placements experience compounded trauma, the services are also provided to foster families to prevent a placement disruption from a foster home. Homebuilders’ Practitioners spend approximately 10 hours per week with the family for 4 weeks. Included in the areas we already service, Homebuilders Program also services the Lake Charles and Calcasieu Parish regions.
