Outreach & Volunteer Coordinator
These goods and services are valued at $350,841. Donated items provided Easter and Christmas gifts to foster and adoptive children and biological children served through the Department of Child and Family Services; assisted clients in recovery who are graduating from a halfway house and re-establishing their own home by providing furniture and household items; helped support social and recreational events for persons with mental illness; made toys and games available to children visiting their non-custodial parent; and provided clothing and hygiene items to persons hospitalized at the acute unit at Tyler Mental Health as well as the homeless. Through donations, we were also able to provide clothing, food, and limited emergency assistance.
We also work with the community in times of emergency. We are a Disaster Relief agency and provide these same services to families struck by natural disasters, such as a house fire. We also raised $14,000 in cash donations and space heaters for families or individuals without heat when the temperatures dipped below freezing for an extended period of time in 2010.
